Applying Existing or Shared Blueprints

When you make changes to a dataset in Phiona, the application automatically tracks the different steps that you make and turns those into a blueprint. This blueprint can be run once on the dataset if you only want to make the changes one time, but it can also be utilized in the future if you need to run the same steps on a similar blueprint again.
One way to run the same blueprint again is to schedule this blueprint to be run when it's attached dataset is refreshed, but you can also do something else with blueprints that's even more powerful: take the steps you've created for one dataset and apply them to another dataset.
When you make your changes in Phiona and want to run them, you'll see the steps in the top right menu and an option to save and run your changes.
To save your blueprint for future use, there will be an option to do so after you continue.
Name your blueprint, and then click on Confirm & Apply to ensure that the changes are made to the dataset.
Once you run the blueprint, those steps will be saved in the Blueprints tab on your project page.
Once you go to that tab, you will see all of the blueprints that you've saved within this project. Click on the "..." link under Actions for the blueprint you wish to share.
Once you've clicked on that link, slide the button to on to expose your shared blueprint ID. This can be shared with anyone else who has Phiona so that they can use your custom blueprint!
Once you've shared this blueprint, a small Shared notification will pop up on the main blueprints screen so that you know which of your blueprints is share accessible.
Once you've shared your blueprint, you can then use it in the future for similar datasets.
Once you have your next dataset (say, March's data instead of February's data), click on the Transform icon to get started, and then the Apply Existing Blueprint step.
There will be two options to use a shared blueprint. You can either use an existing blueprint that has been saved to your project folder already, or, you can use an ID from a shared blueprint.
Once you've inputted the blueprint ID link, you'll see all of the steps from the original blueprint in order. Ensure that the correct column names are put into the steps, and you'll have your blueprint ready to run. Phiona will automatically preview those steps as you select the correct columns.
Not all steps are currently supported with the existing blueprint step. Specifically, combining two datasets and enriching via API are not yet supported.
